If you live in Philadelphia, you can drop off your bulky trash, garden waste, recyclables, and other items at one of the city’s six Sanitary Convenience Centers.

Residents can return regular household items once a day and large items once a week. To use the center, you must show proof that you live in Philadelphia.
Residents may use a private or commercial vehicle, but gross vehicle weight must be less than 6,000 pounds.
Construction debris will not be accepted at Sanitary Convenience Centers. For a fee, construction materials can be brought into private premises.
Vendors and vehicles carrying business luggage cannot be used.

You can bring the following types of items into the Hygiene Convenience Center:
- Car tires (up to 4 per day)
- Bulk items, large metal household items or appliances, or items containing refrigerants (up to 2 per day)
- Christmas tree
- Waste bins (maximum 6 bins or 12 bags)
- Electronic waste such as computers, monitors, and televisions
- latex or water-based paint cans
- Requires the addition of absorbent material such as cat litter or newspaper to harden
- Mattress and box spring, unwrapped

- Yard waste (must be clean and in paper bags only)
- Fluorescent lights, lithium batteries, rechargeable batteries, lead-acid batteries.
